Your pain is my pleasure
Firstly let’s explain some terminology, or rather the use of wholistic over holistic. Some people do not believe in the use of wholistic at all while other schools of thought allow these as interchangeable while other bodies have definitions for both, hence the explanation.
Holism/Holistic – a term coined by Jan Smuts defines that ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, i.e. its best to focus on the overall picture as opposed to individual details.
Wholism/ wholistic – sees the body, mind and soul as the whole. This view focuses on the entire being as a fully integrated system. Understanding that there is more to pain and illness than treating individual systems.
No ailment is seen as just a pain, but rather all aspects taken into account such as state of mind e.g. stress levels, emotional wellbeing in both personal and family situations, postures both at work and during normal or active life and environmental factors. The idea is to assess the source of ailment and treat the source rather than at sight. Wholistic massage is also a great way to feed your soul, and stabilize your emotional wellbeing. Our bodies are connected to our emotional state in many ways that we do not realize. My wholistic massage regiment has been designed to impact not only the body, but the soul.

About Ollie The Body Guru
From national gymnast to completing undergraduate degree in sport science 2002, to then completing postgrad studies and finishing Hons Biokinetics in 2003 I moved to Jhb in 2004 to complete my internship and gain experience in the City of Gold JHB where I landed up staying and practiced for 6 years. There I gained experience in corporate wellness, chronic conditions and posture related ailments. 2009 I relocated to Durban to open a private practice, where my focus has changed from pure exercise therapy to a more wholistic approach in my therapy. My current methods include various massage techniques, energy healing, ancient physical healing techniques such as chinese cupping, meridian pen methods, dry needling, fascial release and joint mobilization techniques.
My passion and goal is to blend multi disciplinary methods and techniques from the old ages to the new (a place where old school meets new school) into one integrated full spectrum method or system of healing and wellness to bring about a more complete, happier and healthier life experience.
